Dry Stick

A hanging container moisture absorber for the inside of a shipping container. Each dry stick holds up to 2 litres of water behind a moisture-protected membrane, so what it draws out of the air cannot find its way back into the container, and it typically lasts 6 to 12 weeks depending on conditions. It is shaped to hook onto the standard roof-mounted lashing points and sits snugly between the wall corrugations, out of the way of stock.

How many you need

• Roughly two sticks per 10 ft of container length as a starting point
• More where you are storing textiles, paper, electricals or anything going in long term
• Fewer where the container is opened often and aired regularly
• Check them on a schedule and replace once the membrane is full — a spent stick absorbs nothing

Absorbing damp is only half the job

Container condensation is driven by warm, damp air inside meeting a cold steel shell overnight, so limiting how much damp air gets in matters as much as taking out what is already there. Tape over the standard container vents to cut that ingress, and keep goods up on pallets or battens so moisture cannot wick off the floor into them. Never seal damp goods into a container and expect the sticks to fix it.

Dry sticks post easily and delivery is free across the UK, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey included, with no VAT added to the price at checkout. As with anything you buy from us, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 give you 14 days to change your mind, and the Consumer Rights Act 2015 gives you a separate 30-day right to reject faulty goods.
