Container Delivery Areas

BluePort Container delivers new and used shipping containers free of charge across the whole of the United Kingdom and the Crown Dependencies. Our registered office is at Long Bennington in Nottinghamshire, just off the A1, and stock is held at depots around the country — so the honest variable on any order is the final approach to your site, not the distance.

The pages below set out the ports that serve each region, the roads that reach it, the areas covered, the planning regime that applies and the access issues that most often come up. Delivery is free everywhere listed here, and offload by HIAB or crane is agreed in writing before delivery.

Delivery regions

  • Scotland — Grangemouth and Greenock, the M74 and A1 corridors, and a ferry leg for the islands.
  • North East England — Teesport and the Port of Tyne handle containers directly; the A1(M) and A19 do the rest.
  • North West England — Liverpool2 on the Mersey, the M6 and M62 throughout, and Cumbrian lanes at the end of it.
  • Yorkshire and the Humber — Immingham, Hull and Goole on the estuary make these some of the shortest runs we make.
  • East Midlands — Our home region; the registered office is on the A1 at Long Bennington, and it is not a depot.
  • West Midlands — The most landlocked part of England, and the point where the M6, M5, M42 and M40 meet.
  • East of England — Felixstowe, Harwich, Tilbury and London Gateway are all in the same corner of the map.
  • London — Emission zones, red routes and the Direct Vision Standard permit decide what is possible.
  • South East England — Southampton, Portsmouth, Dover and Sheerness, plus a ferry crossing for the Isle of Wight.
  • South West England — Fast to Bristol and Gloucestershire, slower past Exeter, and the Isles of Scilly by sea.
  • Wales — The M4 and the A55 are quick; mid Wales has no fast east–west road at all.
  • Northern Ireland — Free on exactly the same terms as the mainland, scheduled around an Irish Sea sailing.
  • Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey — Separate jurisdictions with their own planning and customs rules; the sailing sets the date.

What free delivery covers

Free delivery applies to England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, and to the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey. The price shown on the product page is the total payable — nothing is added at checkout. Where a crane or HIAB offload is needed, that is agreed in writing before delivery rather than assumed either way. Deliveries to the islands and to the Crown Dependencies depend on a sea crossing and are arranged rather than simply booked.

We do not deliver to the Republic of Ireland.

Where our containers come from

BluePort Container is a single-location business. The Long Bennington address is our registered and administrative office, not a container depot: stock is held at third-party depots around the country and a container is despatched from wherever the right unit is, which is not necessarily the depot nearest to either of us. Viewings are by appointment only — please do not travel to a depot without confirming first. Our contact page has the full details.

Before you order

The single most useful thing you can tell us is what the last hundred metres looks like. A loaded 40ft container arrives on an articulated lorry, which in the UK runs to a maximum of 44 tonnes gross and around 16.5 metres in length; it needs firm, level ground, room to turn and clear space overhead.
