Wales divides sharply into three for delivery purposes. The South Wales coastal strip along the M4 is fast and straightforward. North Wales is reached along the A55 and is similarly easy. Mid Wales, between the two, has no fast east-west road at all, and a container going to Powys or Ceredigion may take longer than one going considerably further north.

Delivery is free to Wales on every container we sell, and the price you see is the price you pay — nothing is added at checkout. Offload by HIAB or crane is agreed in writing before delivery, so you know how the container is coming off the lorry before it leaves us.

Cardiff and Newport handle container traffic on the Severn estuary, with Swansea and Port Talbot nearby. Holyhead is primarily an Irish Sea ferry port rather than a deep-sea container terminal, and Milford Haven is dominated by energy cargoes, so many containers for Wales arrive via Bristol or the English ports.

Site access
Upland Wales — Snowdonia, the Cambrian Mountains, the Brecon Beacons and the Valleys — has gradients and hairpins that a loaded artic cannot always take, along with narrow bridges and weight limits. The coastal strips north and south are generally fine.
A loaded 40ft container arrives on an articulated lorry. It needs firm, reasonably level ground, room for the vehicle to turn and space clear of overhead cables and branches for the offload. A 10ft or 20ft unit is considerably more forgiving. If you are unsure whether your site works, tell us about the approach and we will tell you honestly before you order.
