Modified Shipping Containers

Nothing here left a factory looking the way it does now. Each began as a plain steel box, then spent time in a workshop — openings cut, frames welded in, floors rebuilt, interiors lined and wired — so it turns up doing a job rather than waiting to be adapted. Buyers here are usually solving a site problem, not a storage one: somewhere dry to brief a crew, a counter to serve from at an event, a chemical store that meets a bunding requirement, a workshop that can be lifted onto the next job.

Three questions that settle most builds

How does anything get in and out? Swing cargo doors, a roller shutter, a full side opening, or a tunnel with doors at both ends.
Will anyone work inside? That pulls in insulation, lining, lighting and a power supply, and all of it eats internal height.
Does the floor need to do something unusual — a bund to hold a spill, mesh over a sump, a raised deck for drums?

What the conversion range covers

Shipping container conversions here start at a 5ft smoking shelter and run to 40ft workshops and container shops, with most listings at 10ft and 20ft. Bunded chemical stores come in flat-floor, open-mesh and raised patterns; the 10ft × 8ft raised bunded store is the usual starting point. Hospitality builds cover bars, cafés, kitchens, concession stands and the 20ft customised kiosk. On the working side: site offices, switch rooms, welfare and toilet units, confined-space training rigs, and fit-outs as complete as the 40ft tunnel mobile workshop. Most are built on new shells; a handful are fitted out in refurbished or used ones.

Modification and fabrication work carries 12 months on workmanship. Delivery is free across the UK, including Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey, and no VAT is added at checkout, so the listed price is the total. A finished unit is heavier and less forgiving to place than a bare box, so HIAB or crane offload is agreed in writing before delivery. Treat 7–10 days as the estimate, and allow 2–6 weeks for anything made to order. Compare base shells in cabins, or work up a specification with the buyer’s guide.
