10ft Accommodation Container

Description

A 10ft insulated container built to be occupied rather than to carry freight. The distinction matters: it has no CSC safety approval plate and is not intended for shipping, but it has an insulated envelope, through-ventilation and a finished interior on a Corten steel shell weighing only 1,250 kg. At just under 3 m long it is the smallest practical occupied unit — a gatehouse, a security post, a welfare cabin or a single-person site office — and light enough to be repositioned with a forklift rather than a crane.

No CSC plate — read this before ordering

This unit is built for occupation, not for sea freight, and carries no CSC safety approval plate. In practice that has no bearing on using it as a static cabin, and none at all on siting it in a yard, on a farm or on a construction compound. It does mean the unit cannot be shipped as ISO freight and may not satisfy a specification that explicitly calls for a CSC-plated box. If your tender or insurer requires one, tell us before you order and we will point you at plated stock instead. The condition guide covers what plating means in practice.

Typical uses

The 10ft footprint suits jobs where a person needs shelter but not much floor: gatehouses and security posts at yard entrances, welfare and drying rooms on small sites, single-occupancy site offices, sports club ticket and marshalling points, and equestrian or smallholding tack rooms where insulation stops condensation ruining leather and feed. It also works as a compact plant room or battery store where the insulation is doing the work rather than the space.

Delivery, siting and cover

Free UK delivery is included and no VAT is added at checkout, so the figure shown is the total payable — Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey are covered on the same basis, subject to ferry sailings. At 1,250 kg this is one of the lighter units we deliver and it can be placed on ground that would defeat a loaded 20ft box, but the delivery lorry is still a full-size vehicle and needs a firm approach and room to manoeuvre; see our delivery information. Where a lift over an obstacle is needed, a crane offload can be agreed in writing before delivery. The shell carries our 12-month warranty against structural defects and water ingress, with 12 months on the workmanship of any fitted modifications; electrical installations should be inspected and tested periodically by a competent person. You also have a 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and a separate 30-day right to reject faulty goods.
