Description

A 20ft office built inside a refurbished shipping container shell — a load-bearing steel box with corner castings, not a lightweight cabin with panels clipped to a frame. That difference is the whole reason people buy this rather than a standard portable office: it is left unattended on open sites overnight and it holds up. Why a container shell beats a site cabin for security

A thin skin over a light frame is what a conventional portable cabin amounts to. A container-based office is a structural steel box: doors and windows are cut into load-bearing walls instead of being fixed into panels; the corner castings mean it can be lifted, twist-locked and stacked; and a shell that has already survived container handling gear will not be levered open casually. It is why so many sales offices holding stock, command posts with radios, and site offices full of drawings and laptops end up in a container conversion instead of a cabin.

What refurbished means here

This is a used shipping container that has been stripped, repaired, repainted and then converted — not a new-build unit and not sold as one. Expect a sound, dry, presentable shell rather than factory-fresh steel: minor evidence of its cargo life is characteristic of the grade rather than a fault. Points to settle before delivery

• Level base. Doors and windows only operate properly if the unit sits square, so plan a firm standing that bears at all four corners.
• Power. Decide where the supply lands and how it reaches the unit, including the external inlet position.
• Access. Check the delivery route, overhead clearance and turning space for a 20ft load.
• Orientation. Put the door away from the prevailing wind and away from site traffic where you can.

Delivery and what is covered

Delivery is free throughout the UK, including Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey, and the price shown is the total payable with no VAT added at checkout. Where a crane or HIAB offload is needed instead of a tilt-bed, that is agreed in writing before delivery. The conversion workmanship is covered for 12 months. Your statutory rights are separate and additional: 14 days to cancel a change-of-mind purchase under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, and a 30-day right to reject the goods if they are faulty under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
