Sizes and Categories
Choosing the right container
Two decisions cover almost every enquiry we take: how big the box needs to be, and which kind of unit does the job. Here is what each one means in practice.
The sizes we supply
20ft containers
The UK workhorse. Roughly 6.06m long, around 33 cubic metres of storage, and the easiest size to place on a domestic driveway or farm yard.
40ft containers
Around 12.19m long and about 67 cubic metres. Best value per cubic metre, but they need genuine space and a straight run for the lorry.
High cube containers
The same footprint as a standard unit with an extra foot of internal height (about 2.69m), ideal for racking, workshops and conversions.
Specialist units

What to Expect
Buying from BluePort Container
The detail behind the assurances above — what a quoted price actually includes, how we grade a used unit, and the advice you get before you order.
Free UK delivery, no surprises
Delivery is free to any UK address. We deliver free of charge across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, and most postcodes are covered within a few working days of payment clearing. See our Delivery Information page for access requirements and lead times.
The quoted figure is the price
Every quotation we issue states the container and its condition grade, and that is what you pay. The figure we quote is the total payable — no VAT is added at checkout. There are no separate “handling” or “release” charges bolted on afterwards.
Honest condition grading
We grade to the standards the industry actually uses: New/One-Trip, Cargo-Worthy, Wind and Water Tight, and As-Is. Our Condition Guide explains exactly what each grade means and what a used container will realistically look like when it arrives.
Advice before you buy
Sizing, condition and site access are easy to get wrong, and a container is an awkward thing to send back. Tell us what it is for and where it is going and we will say honestly what will work — including when a smaller unit or a different grade would serve you better. Start with our Buyer’s Guide.
The Process
How ordering works
Four steps from first enquiry to a container standing on your site.
- Tell us what you need. Use the quote form or order directly from the shop.
- We confirm availability and the delivered price for your postcode. That includes the offloading method. Delivery is free wherever you are in the UK.
- You pay and we book haulage. Payment terms are set out in our Payment Policy.
- Delivery. The driver calls ahead, positions the container where the site allows, and you sign for it.
