10ft Custom Workshop/Office Shipping Container

Description

A 10ft container converted to work as a bench-and-tools space and a desk space at the same time. Steel-framed windows with lockable shutters give daylight while work is going on and shutter the unit blind when it is left; an insulated personnel door handles daily access without swinging the cargo doors. Benches, wall shelving, lighting, sockets and a distribution board are already installed, and the shell has been repainted white inside and out.

Why 10ft is often the right size

Ten feet is the smallest footprint that still takes a usable bench run, a wall of shelving and enough floor for one or two people to work past each other. So it becomes the practical answer anywhere a 20ft box either will not fit or cannot be justified — service yards, depot corners, secondary compounds, rooftop plant areas and cramped urban sites. Weight is low enough for a suitable forklift or crane to lift it as jobs progress, which lets the workshop follow the work rather than pinning it to one pitch for a whole contract.

One shell doing two jobs

• Benches and wall shelving. Tools stay off the floor and the centre of the unit stays clear to work in.
• Lockable shutters. Daylight and ventilation while you are in it, blind and secure the moment you leave.
• Insulated personnel door. Everyday access with a better seal against draughts than a standard door.
• Fitted electrics. Internal lighting, sockets and a distribution board already in place, so only the supply run is left to do.
• White repaint inside and out. Reflects the fitted lighting internally and presents acceptably on client-facing sites.

Layouts can be changed

Bench positions, socket layout and shutter arrangements are not fixed — tell us the tools and equipment the unit has to hold and the interior can be set out around them before it leaves. That is usually a better outcome than accepting a standard layout and drilling holes in it afterwards.

Getting it to site and what is covered

Delivery is free across the UK, including Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey, and the price shown is what you pay — no VAT is added at checkout. A 10ft unit is the easiest size to place: it needs a firm, level standing at each corner and a reasonable approach, but it will reach yards and back plots that a 20ft delivery cannot. Where a crane or HIAB offload is required, that is agreed in writing before delivery rather than assumed either way. Workmanship on the conversion carries 12 months of cover, and separately you have 14 days to change your mind under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and a 30-day right to reject faulty goods under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
