Description

Containment done properly on a 10ft footprint: this is the compact build of our raised bunded store, on a one-trip shell, for sites that cannot give up the space a 20ft unit takes. The construction is the same where it matters: a welded 3 mm Durbar tread plate working floor with a 300 mm containment tray beneath it, so drums and small IBCs stand above anything that collects rather than in it. Where the mesh version drains through, this one gives you a solid, continuous surface to walk and wheel on while still holding the volume underneath.

Dimensions

  • External: 2.99 × 2.44 × 2.59 m (9 ft 10 in × 8 ft 0 in × 8 ft 6 in)
  • Internal: 2.84 × 2.35 × 2.39 m (9 ft 4 in × 7 ft 9 in × 7 ft 10 in)
  • Door opening: 2.34 × 2.28 m (7 ft 8 in × 7 ft 6 in)
  • Weight empty: 1,390 kg (3,064 lb)
  • Bund depth: 300 mm (11.8 in)

How it is built

  • Built from a new one-trip container
  • 3 mm (0.12 in) Durbar tread plate floor welded into the shell
  • 300 mm raised bund beneath the working floor
  • 12 vents for through-ventilation
  • Cor-Ten weathering steel construction
  • Two forklift pockets at the front for repositioning
  • Factory-fitted lockbox
  • Exterior hinged double doors with two locking bars

The lightest store in the 10ft group, and why that matters

At 1,390 kg this is lighter than either the flat-floor or mesh-deck 10ft store, because there is no mesh assembly and less plate than the flat version carries across its full deck. On a constrained site that is not a trivial detail — it widens the range of plant that can lift and place it, and it is often the difference between a straightforward tilt-bed delivery onto an existing hardstanding and a job that needs the ground built up first. The two forklift pockets are at the front rather than the sides, so plan the approach accordingly if you intend to reposition it later.

Typical duty

  • A working stock of drums held close to where the material is used
  • Decanting points on phased projects, where the store moves as the site changes
  • Fuel, oil and lubricant storage on farms, depots and compounds
  • Waste consolidation where routine seepage is expected

What we can and cannot tell you

The containment volume you need, the ventilation appropriate to your materials, and the signage the store must carry all depend on the substances, the quantities and the rules that apply to your own site. We build to a specification; we do not assess your storage arrangement or certify it as compliant, and nothing on this page should be read as doing so. Tell us what is going in and we will confirm the specification we can supply before you order.

Delivery, ground conditions and cover

Delivery is free UK-wide and includes Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey. The price shown is the total payable — no VAT is added at checkout. The store is delivered by tilt-bed and the pitch must be firm and level; on a bunded unit, level is a functional requirement rather than a nicety, because a tray sitting out of true holds its volume at one end. Allow door-swing clearance at the end and a straight approach behind the drop. If the pitch is only reachable by crane, that must be agreed in writing before delivery is booked. As a new fabrication on a one-trip shell it carries 12 months on workmanship, and 12 months on the container itself against structural defects and water ingress. Your statutory rights sit alongside those: 14 days to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and a separate 30-day right to reject faulty goods under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Bund types and larger options

If drainage matters more to you than a solid working surface, the 10ft open mesh floor bunded store drops liquid straight through to the sump; the 10ft flat floor bunded store holds a level deck for pallet trucks and costs less again. Outgrown the 10ft footprint? The 20ft raised bunded store is the next size. Containment units of every type appear under hazardous containers — tell us what is going inside when you ask us for a quote.
