Description

The most thoroughly specified of our 10ft containment stores, and the only one that separates the stock from the spill entirely. Three layers do three jobs: a welded 3 mm Durbar plate floor seals the base, a 300 mm bund holds the volume, and a galvanised open mesh deck rated to 7.5 kN/m² carries the drums above both. Anything that leaks passes straight through the mesh into the sump, where it can be seen and pumped out without touching the stored goods.

Why separating stock from spill is worth paying for

A drum standing in a pool of whatever leaked out of the drum next to it is a problem that compounds. Steel drum bases corrode from underneath, labels lift and become unreadable, and pallets soften — so a single small release can put a whole run of stock into a condition where it cannot be moved on, sold or safely handled. Lifting everything onto a mesh deck removes that entirely. It also changes the inspection routine from something that requires unloading into something done with a torch through the mesh in a few seconds.

The 7.5 kN/m² rating is what makes the mesh usable rather than decorative: it is what carries loaded drums and small IBCs as point loads rather than a distributed weight.

Delivery, ground and cover

We deliver free across the UK, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey included, with no VAT added at checkout — the price shown is the price paid. The store leaves a depot on a tilt-bed at 1,620 kg and needs firm ground that is genuinely level, since a bund out of level does not hold its rated volume evenly. Keep a straight approach behind the drop point; a crane offload can be arranged where a tilt-bed cannot reach, agreed in writing before delivery. The conversion carries 12 months on workmanship and the one-trip shell 12 months against structural defects and water ingress. Separately, you have 14 days to change your mind under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and a 30-day right to reject faulty goods under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
