Description

A 20ft containment store in which the working floor sits above the containment volume rather than forming it. A 300 mm tray runs beneath a welded 3 mm Durbar deck, so a weeping drum drips into the void underneath while the surface above stays dry enough to walk and wheel on. That combination — solid floor, hidden tray — is what makes it the configuration to specify where routine seepage is a certainty rather than a possibility: decanting areas, waste consolidation points, and any store where drums are handled often enough that the occasional weep is simply expected.

Why the shell being one-trip is not just cosmetic

On a plain storage container, buying a one-trip shell mostly buys appearance. On a containment store it buys something more useful. The steel is unpitted, so there is no existing corrosion for a spilled chemical to work into, and the door seals are new, so the store closes properly against weather from the first day rather than after adjustment. Both of those matter on a unit that may well be looked at by someone from outside your organisation. It also means the welding of the bund and floor is being done into sound plate, not around patch repairs.

What fits inside

At 5.84 m internal the store takes a full run of drums along one wall with a clear walkway beside it, or several IBCs with room to get a pallet truck between them — with every one of them standing above the tray. Twenty-four vents keep vapour moving along the full length rather than pooling at the closed end.

Specification is your call, made with our input

Required containment volume, ventilation rates and signage all depend on what you are storing, in what quantity, and on the rules that apply at your site. We build to a specification and do not certify a storage arrangement as compliant; nothing here should be treated as that assessment. Tell us the substance and quantity and we will confirm what we can supply before you order.

Getting it delivered and what is covered

Delivery is free across the UK, including Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey, and the price on this page is the total payable with no VAT added at checkout. Stock is held at depots around the country and dispatched from whichever suits your postcode, so mainland England and Wales usually falls in the 3 to 7 working day band. The unit needs firm, level ground and a straight approach for a tilt-bed; where only a crane lift will reach the pitch, that is agreed in writing before delivery. Fabrication is covered for 12 months on workmanship and the one-trip shell for 12 months against structural defects and water ingress, with your 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and your separate 30-day right to reject faulty goods under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 applying in addition.

Sizing up or down

Holding less? The 10ft raised bunded store repeats this specification in a shorter shell. Holding a great deal more? Step up to the 40ft raised bunded store. Where liquid should drain clear of the goods rather than sit beneath a solid floor, the 20ft open mesh floor bunded store is the one to compare. Containment units are grouped under hazardous containers and within the wider modified container range.
