20ft Customised Container Kiosk – Fully Converted & Ready to Use

The timber partition is what makes this work commercially: stock and takings stay behind a locked back-room door while trade carries on at the hatch, and the serving side can be closed down without the whole unit standing open. Two people can work the 2.44 m (8 ft) hatch side by side when it gets busy.

Description

A 20ft container converted into a kiosk that can trade the day it lands. An 8ft serving hatch runs along the front with the counter and cupboards behind it, and a timber partition wall creates a separate lockable back room reached through its own steel personnel door. Insulated and ply-lined throughout, wired for lighting, sockets and electric heating, and repainted in RAL 7022 grey. It was built to one client’s brief in the agricultural sector, and the same layout can be adapted to yours.

Dimensions

  • External: 6.058 × 2.438 × 2.591 m (19 ft 10 in × 8 ft 0 in × 8 ft 6 in)
  • Serving hatch: 2.44 m (8 ft) wide
  • Internal: divided by a timber partition into a serving area and a back room
  • Finish: RAL 7022 grey exterior, ply-lined interior over insulation

Two rooms from one 20ft shell

Take the timber partition away and this would be a serving unit; with it in place, it is somewhere to work. Trading happens at the front, behind the 8ft hatch, where the counter run and built-in cupboards sit. Beyond the partition is a lockable room entered by a separate steel personnel door, and that is where stock goes, where takings are counted, where staff sit down for ten minutes and where a small back office can live. The practical gain is twofold: the serving side can be left empty without the whole unit standing open, and the back room stays shut while trade carries on at the hatch. A single-space kiosk makes you trade one of those away all day long.

Details that matter in daily trading

  • 8ft serving hatch. Two people can serve side by side when it gets busy, and the shutter drops flush into its frame to close the unit down.
  • Insulated and ply-lined. Electric heating actually holds a temperature in winter, and there is no bare steel overhead for condensation to gather on and drip onto stock or counters.
  • Wired before it leaves. Lighting, sockets and heating are already installed, so connecting a supply on arrival is the only electrical work outstanding.
  • RAL 7022 grey. An understated commercial colour that takes vinyl branding without fuss and reads as a fixed facility rather than a converted box.

Who buys a kiosk this size

Retail pitches at markets and events, ticketing and admissions, farm shops and roadside sales, site security and gatehouse duty with a back office, and food service where the cooking happens elsewhere. The partitioned layout is what makes it work for anything involving cash or stock left on site between trading days.

Delivery, siting and cover

Delivery is free anywhere in the UK, including Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey, and the price shown is the total payable with no VAT added at checkout. Position the unit with the hatch face into your customer flow and leave room for a queue to stand clear of vehicle movements; the back-room door needs its own clear access from the staff side. The standing must be firm and level at all four corners so the hatch shutters run true. Crane or HIAB offload is agreed in writing before delivery. Conversion workmanship carries 12 months of cover, alongside your separate statutory rights: 14 days to change your mind under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, and 30 days to reject the goods if faulty under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Other serving and retail conversions

Working events and markets where space is tighter? The 10ft container concession stand covers serving from a window, while the 10ft pop-up bar container is the drinks version of the same footprint. If the build has to be organised around catering equipment, our container kitchen builds are the better starting point. Everything here is made to order — see comparable work in the modified container range, then send us your layout.
