The North West combines some of the densest urban delivery in the country with some of the most remote upland in England, often within an hour of each other. A container going to a yard in Trafford Park and one going to a smallholding in the Eden Valley are very different jobs. The region is well connected to us by the M6 and M62, so the road leg is rarely the difficulty.

Free delivery to North West England

Delivery is free to North West England on every container we sell, and the price you see is the price you pay — nothing is added at checkout. Offload by HIAB or crane is agreed in writing before delivery, so you know how the container is coming off the lorry before it leaves us.

Ports serving North West England

  • Port of Liverpool (Seaforth)
  • Liverpool2 deep-water terminal
  • Manchester Ship Canal
  • Heysham
  • Barrow-in-Furness

Liverpool is the major container gateway on this coast, and the Liverpool2 deep-water terminal takes the largest vessels calling in the north. The Manchester Ship Canal allows some container traffic to move inland by water to Salford, which occasionally shortens the road leg for Greater Manchester deliveries.

Areas we cover

  • Cheshire
  • Greater Manchester
  • Merseyside and Liverpool
  • Lancashire
  • Blackpool and the Fylde
  • Preston

Site access

Lake District and Pennine deliveries are the ones worth discussing before the lorry sets off — narrow lanes, stone walls and gradients are common, and some valley roads are effectively closed to artics. In the urban centres the limiting factor is usually parked cars and overhead cables rather than the road itself.

A loaded 40ft container arrives on an articulated lorry. It needs firm, reasonably level ground, room for the vehicle to turn and space clear of overhead cables and branches for the offload. A 10ft or 20ft unit is considerably more forgiving. If you are unsure whether your site works, tell us about the approach and we will tell you honestly before you order.
