30ft Used Bulk Shipping Container

Thirty feet is an uncommon length, and that is exactly why people come looking for it. At roughly 9 m externally it needs more standing room than a 20 ft but considerably less than a 40 ft — often the only size that works on a constrained yard where the 40 ft cannot turn and the 20 ft is not enough.

This is a bulk container rather than a plain dry van. Four top-opening lids let material be loaded from directly overhead, and a front tipping hatch allows it to be discharged from the front without emptying through the doors. For aggregate, grain, waste and anything else handled in volume rather than on pallets, that changes the workflow completely.

Two things to confirm before ordering. Stock arrives in both 2-door and 3-door layouts, so tell us how you intend to load and unload and we will match a unit to it. And some of these containers have fiberglass floors rather than timber — worth specifying if it matters for your material or your cleaning regime.

Practical Notes Before You Order

  • Length: at roughly 9 m externally, a 30ft unit needs more standing room than a 20ft but far less than a 40ft, which often makes it the only option on constrained yards.
  • Door configuration: stock arrives in both 2 door and 3 door layouts, so tell us how you intend to load before we allocate a unit.
  • Floor type: most units have a timber floor on steel cross members, but some carry a fiberglass floor, which is easier to wash down.
  • Condition: as ex-shipping line stock, expect surface dents and scrapes consistent with commercial service.

Comparable Units

Because 30ft containers were never produced in the volumes that 20ft and 40ft units were, availability moves quickly and stock is not always identical. Our other 30 x 8ft bulk shipping container listing covers the same size, and where the extra length is not a problem the 40ft used shipping container is usually better value per square foot.
