8Ft One Trip Shipping Container

An 8ft one trip shipping container: the shortest unit we supply, and normally the answer where a driveway, courtyard or rooftop has no room for a 10ft footprint, let alone a 20ft one. One trip containers are manufactured overseas and carry cargo on a single voyage to the United Kingdom, which makes them the most common form of new container sold here and considerably cheaper than a container built domestically. The smallest practical container

An 8ft unit exists because of access, not because of storage economics. Per square metre it is the most expensive size we sell — you are paying for two ends, a roof, a floor and a set of doors regardless of how short the box is. Nobody buys one to save money.

What you buy it for is the ability to put a secure steel store somewhere nothing larger will go: behind a terraced house, inside a walled courtyard, on a flat roof, in a compound with a single narrow gate. It keeps every essential of a full-size container — factory-fitted lockbox, forklift pockets, marine plywood floor, Cor-Ten shell — in a footprint smaller than a parking space. If you can find another two feet of length, a 10ft is a noticeably more useful shape for very little more.

Delivery, siting and cover

Delivery is free anywhere in the UK, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey included, and the price shown is the total payable with no VAT added at checkout. This is the easiest size to place by some distance: a HIAB-equipped lorry can usually lift an 8ft unit over a wall, fence or hedge and set it into a back garden or courtyard that no vehicle could enter. That is precisely the situation this size is bought for, so tell us the access when you order — crane or HIAB offload is agreed in writing before delivery. Set it on firm, level ground so the doors stay square.

As a one trip unit it carries our 12-month warranty against structural defects and water ingress, covering the panels, underframe, door gear and floor structure. Alongside that you have 14 days to change your mind under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, and a distinct 30-day right to reject the goods if they are faulty.
