Description

A 10ft one-trip container is the shortest ISO box we supply that still carries a valid CSC plate. A single loaded voyage is all it has made before arriving in the UK, so the paint is clean, the floor unmarked and the door seals not yet weathered, and it still costs well under a container built to order. Most customers choose it for the short footprint: at 2.99 m it drops onto a single parking bay or down a side return.

Dimensions

  • External: 2.99 × 2.44 × 2.59 m (9 ft 10 in × 8 ft 0 in × 8 ft 6 in)
  • Internal: 2.84 × 2.35 × 2.39 m (9 ft 4 in × 7 ft 9 in × 7 ft 10 in)
  • Door opening: 2.34 m wide × 2.28 m high (7 ft 8 in × 7 ft 6 in)
  • Tare weight: 1,300 kg
  • Maximum gross weight: 10.1 tonnes
  • Floor: 28 mm marine plywood

Build and fittings

  • One-trip condition: one loaded voyage, not ex-fleet stock
  • CSC plated, so it remains usable for freight
  • Cor-Ten weathering steel throughout — the standard material for ISO containers
  • Hinged double doors at one end, two locking bars per door leaf
  • Padlock shrouded against bolt croppers by a factory-fitted lockbox
  • Repositioning without a crane: two forklift pockets per side
  • 28 mm marine plywood floor laid on steel cross members
  • Two vents minimum, limiting condensation in sealed storage

Full height and width in a short shell

The thing that surprises people about a 10ft container is that only the length is reduced. Internal width and height are identical to a 20ft or 40ft unit — 2.35 m across and 2.39 m to the ceiling — so pallet racking, standard shelving, wheelie bins, ride-on mowers and site equipment all fit exactly as they would in a longer box. You lose floor area, not usable geometry, which is why a 10ft unit is a genuine storage solution rather than a compromise.

Being CSC plated is the other practical difference. It means this unit can still be shipped as freight, and it holds its resale value better than a shortened shell that cannot.

Where it fits

Plant and tool storage where space is tight, secure overflow for a workshop that has run out of room in its building, grounds maintenance equipment stores, and domestic driveways where a 20ft container simply will not turn.

Delivery, siting and cover

Delivery is free UK-wide, taking in Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey, and the price shown is what you pay — no VAT is added at checkout. At 1,300 kg this is the easiest size to place: a HIAB can usually lift it over a fence or wall into a back garden or courtyard, which is rarely an option with heavier units. Any crane or HIAB offload is agreed in writing before delivery. Set it on firm, level ground so the doors stay in alignment. Mainland England and Wales is typically 3 to 7 working days.

As a one-trip unit it carries our 12-month warranty against structural defects and water ingress, covering the panels, underframe, door gear and floor structure. Alongside that you have 14 days to change your mind under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, and a separate 30-day right to reject the goods if they are faulty.

Related sizes

Because it is plated, this unit can still be used for shipping, and that is the main practical difference between this and a 10ft cut down used container. Should the site be tighter still, drop to the 8ft one trip shipping container. Where more depth is wanted, the 20ft one trip container is built to an identical specification. Everything we hold sits under shipping containers, and the condition guide explains what one trip means in practice.
