20′ Flat Rack Shipping Container – One Trip (Like New)

Description

A 20ft flat rack in one-trip condition: a heavy-duty steel frame with a deck, two end walls and nothing else. No roof, no sides, no doors — which is precisely the point, because the loads a flat rack carries are the ones a closed container physically cannot accept. Machinery, vehicles, construction plant, large-diameter pipe and long steel sections all go on from above by crane or from either flank by forklift. This unit has made a single journey from the manufacturer, so the paint, the decking and the lashing points are unused.

When one-trip grade is worth the difference

For a rack that will sit in a yard as a working platform, a used frame does the same structural job for considerably less money. One-trip grade earns its premium in two situations. The first is intermodal work, where the rack goes back into shipping service and the condition of the frame, decking and lashing points is inspected. The second is high-value plant, where you do not want the load resting on decking that has already carried ten years of unknown cargo. If neither applies to you, buy used and spend the difference elsewhere.

Delivery, siting and cover

Delivery is free throughout the UK including Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey, and no VAT is added at checkout. A flat rack is the easiest thing in this catalogue to deliver and the easiest to get wrong: it is low and open, so it drops off a tilt-bed without difficulty, but with no walls to spread the load it must land on firm ground under the rails rather than on soft standing that will let a corner settle. If the rack is going straight onto a stack or needs craning into position, that crane or HIAB offload is agreed in writing before delivery. One-trip grade carries 12 months of cover against structural defects. You keep your statutory rights in addition: 14 days to change your mind under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, and separately 30 days to reject the goods if they are faulty.
