Description
A 40ft high cube refrigerated container set up for deep-freeze duty rather than simple chilled holding. Standard machines run +25 to -25 degrees Celsius; later units reach +45 to -40, which is the band that matters if you are storing ice cream, seafood or anything held hard-frozen rather than merely cold. The high cube profile buys an extra 305 mm of internal height over a standard reefer, so pallets stack three high instead of two and the 67.5 cubic metres actually gets used.

Deep freeze costs more than chilled — plan for it
The number people miss is the power. Holding -40 rather than +2 keeps the compressor working far harder, and the 6 to 10 kWh consumption sits at the top of that band in warm weather with a full box. Size the supply and, if you are running on a generator, size that generously rather than to the nameplate figure. Door discipline matters more too: every opening at deep-freeze temperatures dumps a large amount of cooling capacity, which is why operators who open frequently often specify a smaller unit and open it less.
Typical applications
Food processors and frozen distributors needing overflow capacity through a seasonal peak. Seafood and meat handlers. Laboratories and pharmaceutical storage working to a validated low set point. Agricultural operations buffering between harvest and collection. Product testing where a repeatable cold soak is part of the specification.
Getting it onto site
Delivery is free throughout the UK including Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey, and the price shown is what you pay — no VAT is added at checkout. This is the demanding end of the range for access: a 12.19 metre box on an articulated tilt-bed needs a straight approach, room to reverse and a firm, level standing at the end of it. Measure gateways and overhead clearances against the 2.90 metre high cube profile as well as the length. Where the position rules out a tilt-bed and a crane or HIAB offload is needed, that is agreed in writing before delivery. Commission the three-phase supply first. Supplied wind and watertight, the shell carries three months’ cover against water ingress and door operation, and separately you keep your 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and your distinct 30-day right to reject faulty goods under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Compare across the range
A smaller pad restricts what will fit, and both the 10ft freezer reefer and the 30ft customised freezer container do the same temperature work in a shorter shell. Rapid pull-down rather than steady holding is a different specification altogether — that is the 20ft blast freezer. All temperature-controlled stock appears under reefer containers. Give us the product, the target temperature and the site power and we will confirm a suitable unit.
