What a blast freezer does that a standard reefer cannot
A conventional reefer is built to hold product at a set point. A blast freezer is built to take it there fast. Driving product through the critical freezing zone quickly keeps ice crystals small, which is what protects texture, moisture and cell structure in meat, seafood, bakery and prepared meals. The heavy insulation package on this unit — 90mm in the roof, 101/51mm in the floor, 81mm in the door panels — is what makes those pull-down rates achievable and repeatable.
Practical notes
- Three-phase power at 460V or 230V is required; check the supply at the site before ordering
- Load in single layers with clear air gaps — stacking tight defeats the whole point of blast freezing
- Allow servicing clearance at the machinery end and a level pad so the doors seal squarely
- The 1,737mm door width is narrower than a dry container, so plan pallet handling accordingly
