Description
Two refurbished 40ft high cube reefer containers, built in 2012, fully working and sold as seen. Refurbished sits between used and new: the machinery has been checked and the shell tidied, but these remain used units with a service history rather than factory stock. The commercial argument is range. An approximate -28 to +28 degree band from one machine means frozen, chilled and ambient duty are all available from the same container, which matters if what you store changes through the year rather than staying constant.
Dimensions
- External: 12.19 × 2.44 × 2.90 m (40 ft × 8 ft × 9 ft 6 in high cube)
- Door opening: approximately 2.34 m wide × 2.58 m high (7 ft 8 in × 8 ft 6 in)
- High cube height gives extra internal volume over a standard 40ft reefer
- Internal length is reduced against a dry container because the machinery pack takes the front wall

What refurbished means here, and what it does not
Refurbished units have had their machinery checked over and the shell made good, which is a meaningful step above a straight used sale. What it is not is a rebuild to new specification, and the phrase sold as seen is the part to take seriously: you are buying the unit in its present condition, so it is worth confirming the specific container and its power arrangement with us before you order rather than assuming a uniform standard across both. Ask what was done and what was not. We would far rather answer that before delivery than after.
Where the range earns its keep
A single machine covering roughly -28 to +28 suits operations whose storage requirement moves: a grower running chilled through the season and frozen afterwards, a caterer switching between ambient dry goods and frozen stock, a distributor whose product mix changes with contracts. Buying two narrower-range units to cover the same ground costs more in capital, in power and in hardstanding.
Delivery and cover
Delivery is free throughout the UK, taking in Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey, and the price shown is the total payable because no VAT is added at checkout. These are full-length high cubes, so plan for an articulated tilt-bed with a straight approach, room to reverse and firm, level standing where it lands, and check the 2.90 metre height against gateways and overhead cables. If you are taking both units, tell us at the point of order so the deliveries and the standing positions can be planned together rather than separately. Where a crane or HIAB offload is needed, that is agreed in writing before delivery. Have the three-phase supply commissioned in advance. Because these are sold as seen, no additional warranty term applies. Your statutory rights are unaffected and remain distinct from one another: 14 days to change your mind under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, and 30 days to reject the goods if they are faulty under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Compare
The Carrier Primeline 40ft reefer of the same model year is the usual cross-shop, as is the used Carrier ThinLINE 40ft working reefer. Buyers who need the insulated shell but no refrigeration at all pay considerably less for a non-working 40ft HC reefer. Every cold storage unit we hold appears under reefer containers, and the taller shells under high cube containers.
