20ft High Cube Fixed Glazing Observation Container

A 20ft high cube container converted into a fully glazed observation unit — three fixed windows on each long side, one in the front and a tilting window at the rear, all in 5+9A+5 mm double safety glass with shutters fitted throughout. It is bought where sightlines matter as much as shelter: gatehouses, porters lodges, weighbridge cabins and site supervision points. The high cube shell is not incidental. Once 60 mm of rock wool and a chipboard lining go in, a standard-height box leaves a cramped ceiling; this one does not.

Specifying the unit before it is built

This is a made-to-order conversion, which means the window layout, the electrical specification and the exterior colour are all decisions rather than fixed facts. Any RAL colour is available. Tell us which way the unit will face and where the operator sits, because the glazing arrangement should follow the sightline you actually need — a gatehouse watching one approach wants different glass from a weighbridge cabin that has to see both sides of a vehicle. The unit is CSC certified and stackable, so it can be lifted and moved conventionally once sited.

Delivery, siting and cover

UK delivery is free, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey included, and no VAT is added at checkout. Two things need planning that would not apply to a plain storage box. First, glazing on all four elevations means the unit must be set genuinely level — a twisted frame will bind the wicket door and, in the worst case, stress a pane. Second, it needs a 400 V supply within reach of the external connection, which is a groundworks decision to make before the container arrives, not after. Crane or HIAB offload is agreed in writing before delivery, and as a made-to-order build you should expect a longer lead time than stock units. Workmanship on the conversion is covered for 12 months. Your statutory rights are unaffected: 14 days to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, and separately 30 days to reject the goods if they are faulty.
