This is the largest bunded store in the range: a full 40ft container converted from a new one-trip shell into a single sealed containment area with a 300mm raised bund. It is the unit to specify when drum and IBC quantities have outgrown a 20ft store, or when several classes of goods need to be kept apart under one lockable roof rather than spread across separate compounds.

How the Containment Is Built

The floor is 3mm Durbar checker plate, welded into the container rather than laid on top of the existing timber deck, and it is turned up 300mm at the perimeter to form the bund. That gives a single continuous steel tray with no joints for liquid to track through, and the checker pattern keeps footing secure when the surface is wet. Because the plate is welded in, it also carries drum and small-plant point loading far better than the marine plywood floor it replaces.

Ventilation Across 40 Feet

Forty-eight vents run the length of both sides — the highest vent count in the bunded range, and the reason this unit suits goods that give off vapour over a long dwell time. Continuous passive airflow across the full 40ft reduces the build-up that occurs when a large volume of stock is sealed into a single space, and it helps limit condensation on the steel in temperature swings.

Security and Handling

• Exterior hinged double doors at the end, with two locking bars and a factory-fitted lockbox for unmanned compounds.
• Forklift pockets for repositioning once the yard layout changes.
• Cor-Ten steel shell taken from one-trip stock, so panels are straight and door seals unworn.
