Description
The 20ft Container Pool in Standard Build is the compact end of our range: a converted shipping container shell with a smooth waterproof lining and a filtration set sized to the water it holds. Buy it when the constraint is space rather than swim length. It is the version that fits a small town garden, a courtyard, a roof terrace or the narrow strip down the side of a house — places where a conventional pool would mean losing the whole plot to excavation.
Dimensions and water depth
- External length 6.06 m (19 ft 10 in)
- External width 2.44 m (8 ft)
- External height 2.59 m (8 ft 6 in)
- Water depth approximately 1.2 to 1.5 m (4 to 5 ft)
The swimming area is the inside of the shell once the lining is built up, so it is a little under the external figures. We confirm the finished internal dimensions in writing at quote stage.
What is in the container pool Standard Build
- Smooth waterproof interior lining — fibreglass and PVC are both used, and which one you get is specified on your quotation
- A filtration set sized to the volume of water the shell holds
- Painted or clad exterior to suit the surroundings
- Electric or solar heating, internal steps and bench seating, and wall insulation are all available as quoted options rather than assumed inclusions
Why the short shell wins on access
This is the practical argument for the 20ft over anything longer. A shorter, lighter shell can be craned over a smaller obstruction, from a nearer standing position, on a smaller machine. Plenty of gardens that could never take a 40ft pool will take this one, purely because the lift is achievable from the road. It can also be lifted out and relocated later if you move or re-landscape, which a poured pool cannot.
Ground, safety and permission
Foundation work is modest compared with a conventional pool, but a filled pool is a heavy, concentrated load and the standing area has to be level and firm enough to carry it. Fencing, a cover and supervision are the owner’s responsibility — we do not supply them and they are not optional in a garden used by children. Whether you need planning permission depends on your site rather than the product; the planning permission guide covers what actually triggers it.
Delivery, offload and your cover
UK delivery is free, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey included, and the price shown is the total payable with no VAT added at checkout. Crane or HIAB offload is agreed in writing before delivery. Because pools are built to your specification, work to the specialist lead time of roughly 2 to 6 weeks rather than a stock delivery slot. Fabrication workmanship is covered for 12 months. You also have 14 days to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, and a separate 30-day right to reject faulty goods under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Other 20ft options
For a higher level of finish with heating and seating designed in from the start, compare the 20ft Container Pool in Premium Build. The same compact shell in a bold finish is the pink 20ft container pool. Longer shells sit in the full container pool range, and the buyer’s guide covers access and ground preparation.
