A container workshop arrives finished. The wiring and the pipework are done at the fabrication stage, so what lands on your ground is a working shop rather than a building project — crane it into position, connect it, start work. Shells run to 10ft, 20ft and 40ft, in standard height or high cube, and the fit-out is specified around the trade it has to serve: roller doors, benches, shelving, gantries, insulation, ventilation and ramps.

Two very different buyers, one specification

One group is trying to reclaim the garage. They want a dry, lockable place to weld, turn, build or spray that is neither the bay the cars occupy nor the kitchen table. The other group needs the shop itself to move. Where the job is repairing plant at the point it fails, a workshop that loads onto a lorry reverses the usual arrangement: the tools travel to the breakdown, not the other way round, and when the site closes the unit is lifted out the same day. Two opposite briefs, one shell.

Why the shell does the heavy lifting

A shipping container is engineered to be stacked several high and to cross oceans loaded. Repurposed as a workshop that means it is wind and watertight, genuinely secure, and effectively unbreakable in normal use — none of which is true of a timber or sheet-clad outbuilding of the same footprint. It is also why the unit holds value: at the end of a project it moves to the next one.

Delivery, siting and cover

Delivery is free anywhere in the UK, including Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey, and the price shown is the total payable — no VAT is added at checkout. Pre-designed 20ft and 40ft units move faster than a bespoke build, so if your date is fixed, say so when you enquire; lead-time bands are in our shipping policy. Plan a firm, level standing bearing at all four corners, and if you have specified a roller door leave clear working space in front of it. Crane or HIAB offload is agreed in writing before delivery. Fabrication and conversion workmanship are covered for 12 months, and separately you have 14 days to change your mind under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and a 30-day right to reject faulty goods under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Stocked workshops you can buy today

Not every buyer wants a bespoke build. The 20ft workshop containers handle most trades inside a single bay; the 40ft tunnel container mobile workshop has doors at both ends, so longer stock can be run straight through. On a tight pitch, the 10ft custom workshop and office container puts bench and desk under one small roof. Heavy kit goes up over the sill far more easily with a container ramp, and the rest of the conversion work sits under modified containers.
