Description

Container Ramp

The sill of a shipping container sits several inches above ground, and that step is enough to stop a pallet truck, sack barrow, wheelbarrow or trolley dead. This ramp bridges it, so wheeled equipment rolls in and out at ground level instead of being lifted over.

It is 1 m square and deliberately light. Nothing is bolted down — in normal use it needs no fixings at all, so it drops into place when you are loading and lifts clear in seconds afterwards. That suits a container that is worked occasionally rather than continuously; store it inside or leave it outside depending on how often you need it. The surface is checker plate for grip underfoot and under wheels.

Two limitations, stated plainly. There are no handrails, and this is not built to an accessibility specification — it is a goods-handling ramp. If you need a ramp for wheelchair or pedestrian access, that is a different build and we can quote it. Wider versions can also be fabricated for specific equipment.

Loading With a Container Ramp

The sill of a standard container sits high enough that pallet trucks, sack barrows, wheelbarrows, stillages and trolleys cannot be pushed straight in. This ramp bridges that step from ground level and lifts clear again in seconds, which suits containers loaded occasionally rather than continuously. Wider versions can be fabricated for specific equipment, and if you need a ramp built for accessibility rather than goods handling, ask us – it is a different specification.

Once you are loading regularly, keeping the doors safely open matters: a container door stay holds them back in wind. Inside, adjustable heavy duty container racking keeps the floor clear so a pallet truck can turn.
