Description
Our full-length pool, finished outside in high-visibility orange. Underneath the colour is a converted 40ft shipping container measuring 12.19 m long, 2.44 m wide and 2.59 m high, which buys a genuine swim length in a structure that looks like a considered piece of design rather than yard plant left standing on the lawn.
Why an orange container pool
The orange is applied over prepared steel, which means it is a coating system rather than decoration: it protects the shell at the same time as it defines the look. It can be recoated later if the scheme around it changes. Where it earns its keep is anywhere the pool is meant to be seen — open lawns, hospitality settings, holiday lets and spaces that get photographed. Colour matching is confirmed before fabrication.
Shell dimensions
- External length 12.19 m (40 ft)
- External width 2.44 m (8 ft)
- External height 2.59 m (8 ft 6 in)
- Depth configured during the build
Depth, decking and siting
Because depth is configured during the build, the same shell can be finished shallow for family use or deeper for swimming — decide before fabrication rather than after. Most buyers add decking in timber or composite around the top edge, which converts the rim into somewhere to sit and sunbathe. How it stands is equally open: proud of the ground, partly sunk, or set fully into it where the levels suit and the excavation earns its cost.
The practical advantages hold whatever the finish: no formwork or poured concrete shell, a corrosion-resistant steel structure with lower routine upkeep than tiled construction, and a pool that can be lifted and moved if the property changes.
Delivering a full-length pool
Twelve metres of steel arrives on an articulated lorry and is craned into position, so the approach road, the crane standing position and the overhead clearance matter more than the size of the garden. Send photographs of the intended position when you enquire and we will tell you what is achievable before anything is built. If the answer is that the lift will not work, we would rather say so at enquiry stage.
Planning is a separate question and depends on your site — boundaries, conservation areas and listed status all bear on it; see the UK planning permission guide. Fencing, covers and supervision remain the owner’s responsibility, and a pool used by guests rather than family is a reason to be more careful about them, not less.
Price, cover and cancellation
Free delivery across the UK including Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey. No VAT is added at checkout — the price shown is the total payable. Crane or HIAB offload is agreed in writing before delivery, and a specialist build runs to roughly 2 to 6 weeks. Fabrication workmanship carries 12 months’ cover; separately, you have 14 days to change your mind under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and 30 days to reject faulty goods under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
For the same shell in a plain finish, see the 40ft Container Pool in Classic Design. In a compact footprint, the bold option is the pink 20ft container pool, and every build is listed under container pools.
