Description
The 40 Ft Container Pool – Deep End Design is the variable-depth version of our full-length container pool. Built from a repurposed 40-foot shipping container, it steps from a shallow end for wading, children and lounging down to a deeper section for proper swimming and exercise – all within a single 40-foot steel shell.
Why a stepped depth profile
- Two pools in one: a shallow zone for family use and a deep zone for lengths, without splitting the footprint
- Better for exercise: the deeper end supports resistance swimming and aqua workouts
- Natural entry: the shallow end doubles as a wading and seating area
- Depth set to you: the profile is agreed during the build rather than fixed off the shelf
The shell
The container measures approximately 40 feet long, 8 feet wide and 8.5 feet high. That height is what makes the deep end possible – there is enough shell depth to work with before the pool has to be sunk into the ground. The exterior can be painted or clad to match the house, and many owners add a timber or composite deck along one edge.
Sustainable by construction
Converting an existing container avoids the excavation, formwork and concrete of a conventional pool, and puts a large steel structure back into service instead of into scrap.
Compare the 40ft builds
If a consistent depth suits you better, the 40 Ft Container Pool in Classic Design is the simpler layout. For a shorter shell in a higher specification, see the 30 Ft Container Pool in Premium Build. All sizes are listed under container pools.
