Description

Stack a cabin two high — steel, ECOlink or jackleg, it makes no difference — and a stair becomes necessary. This is the one built for the job. It bolts directly to fixings already in the pedestrian door sill, so there is no separate foundation and no independent frame to design, position or maintain. Supplied painted black as standard, with a fully galvanised finish available on request.

Work out the handing before you order

This is the one detail that catches people out. The flight can be built to descend either way, but the choice is not free: the hinge on the upper door decides it. Stand facing that door — hinged on the left, and the treads run away to your right; hinged on the right, and they drop to your left. Settle it wrongly on paper and the stair arrives coming down across a walkway, a parking bay or the footprint of the next cabin, and a staircase is not something that can be spun round once it is on site. Mark the handing on the compound layout at drawing stage.

What the landing is actually for

A landing gives a level standing area outside the upper door, which means nobody is opening a door while balanced on a tread — the single most common way people fall off a stacked cabin. Combined with handrails running the full flight, that is what makes a two-high stack workable day in and day out rather than merely physically possible.

Delivery, siting and cover

Delivery is free across the UK, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey included, and the price shown is the total payable with no VAT added at checkout. Unlike the smaller accessories, this is a heavy fabricated steel assembly and needs mechanical offload — a HIAB or crane arrangement is agreed in writing before the delivery date, and it is normally delivered with the cabins it serves so the stack can be commissioned in one visit. It needs level, compacted ground and a clear run-out at the foot of the flight. As a fabricated steel item it carries 12 months on workmanship in line with our warranty policy. Separately from that, you have 14 days to change your mind under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, and a 30-day right to reject the goods if they are faulty under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. A galvanised finish is worth pricing for a long-term or coastal installation.
