Description
A used 40ft cargo container with double doors at both ends, giving full pass-through access along a 12 m shell. Built from heavy-duty Cor-Ten steel with solid marine plywood flooring, it is structurally sound, weatherproof and fully functional — chosen when loading and unloading from a single end would slow the operation down or make the far end of the container effectively unreachable.

Reaching the far end of a 40ft container
This is the problem double doors solve, and it is worth stating plainly. A 40ft container loaded from one end only becomes progressively harder to use as it fills: the last few metres are reachable only by unloading everything in front of them. For stock that rotates, that turns a large container into a small one with an expensive storage area behind it.
Doors at both ends remove the constraint entirely. A forklift drives in one end and out the other, long materials pass straight through rather than needing to be turned inside a 2.35 m width, and stock can be loaded at one end and drawn from the other in proper rotation. Alternatively, fit a bulkhead at the midpoint and you have two independent, separately lockable 20ft stores on one foundation.
Suited to
Construction, warehousing, farms, retail and personal storage; drive-through operations; long materials such as pipe, timber and steel section; and any site where one container needs to serve two users or two access points.
Delivery, siting and cover
Delivery is free anywhere in the UK, including Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey, and the price shown is the total payable with no VAT added at checkout. Siting deserves particular thought on a double-door unit: both ends need clear working space, so allow roughly 3 m of open ground beyond each end rather than backing one end against a wall or fence, or you lose the pass-through advantage you paid for. A 40ft delivery needs a clear straight approach of about 25 m and firm, level standing. HIAB or crane offload is agreed in writing before delivery.
As used ex-service stock supplied wind and watertight, it is covered for three months from delivery: dry inside under normal weather conditions, with both sets of doors opening, closing and locking. Cosmetic condition is excluded — expect surface rust, dents and previous livery. Separately, you have 14 days to change your mind under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, and a distinct 30-day right to reject the goods if they are faulty.
How this unit compares
Prefer that same pass-through layout in factory-fresh condition? That is the 40ft one-trip tunnel container. Where loading only ever happens from one end, a conventional used 40ft shipping container gives you the same footprint for less. The condition guide explains where used sits against cargo-worthy and one-trip grades, and the rest of our stock is under shipping containers.
