Description
A 2009-built 40ft high cube refrigerated container, individually identified as unit CCR18757 on serial TRIU8612324. This is a specific box with a documented history rather than a generic listing — useful if the unit is going onto an asset register, or if you simply want to know exactly what is arriving. It is offered principally as insulated high-cube storage: the full refrigeration plant is still fitted, but its operational condition is not warranted and should be confirmed before purchase if you intend to run it.

Be clear about the refrigeration
We would rather set expectations honestly than sell this twice. The unit was built in 2009 and has had a working life; the insulated envelope is what makes it valuable, and the machinery is a bonus rather than the basis of the sale. If you need guaranteed running refrigeration, ask us before ordering and we will point you at stock sold on that basis. If you need a very well insulated, very secure 40ft box — for ambient-stable storage, a workshop that holds its temperature, or a shell to convert — a retired reefer is one of the best value structures available, because the insulation alone would cost more to build than the container costs to buy.
Condition, cover and your rights
This is a used unit and is sold as one. Expect the cosmetics of fifteen years in service: surface rust, dents, scrapes, patch paint and previous operators’ markings. What is warranted is that the shell is structurally sound and weathertight, for three months from delivery; the refrigeration plant is excluded from that cover. Our condition guide explains how used grades are assessed. Your statutory rights are unaffected and sit alongside this: a 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, and a separate 30-day right to reject goods that are faulty under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Delivery and siting
Delivery is free anywhere in the UK, including Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey, and no VAT is added at checkout. A 40ft high cube is the most demanding unit we deliver: the lorry is articulated, needs a long straight approach and a firm level surface, and the container itself stands 2.90 m tall before you allow for the base it sits on — check gateway and overhead clearance carefully. Where a tilt-bed offload is not possible, a crane lift can be agreed in writing before delivery. The access requirements are set out in our delivery information, and it is worth reading them before ordering rather than after.
Comparable cold storage units
Stock on a comparable specification runs to the Maersk RAHC-031 40ft cold storage reefer, and to the Carrier Primeline 40ft high cube reefer. Tighter pads take the 20ft used reefer containers, which do the same job in a smaller footprint. Everything cold is grouped under reefer containers; want the machinery checked before committing?
