The whole flank opens as well as the end, so racking, machinery and long items reach their final position without being worked down from an 8ft opening. One trip from the factory, CSC plated to 24 tonnes, with eight vents and forklift pockets on both sides.

Description

Two openings, not one. A new one-trip 20ft container carrying the usual pair of double doors across the end and, along one entire flank, a second pair of double hinged doors. The consequence is practical: nothing is fed through a single 8ft-wide gap then worked down the box. Pallets, racking, machinery and long awkward items go straight to where they are meant to sit. On a 6 m unit that sounds like a detail, and stops sounding like one the first week you move stock in and out.

Dimensions and rating

  • External: 6.06 × 2.44 × 2.59 m (19 ft 11 in × 8 ft 0 in × 8 ft 6 in)
  • Internal: approximately 5.90 × 2.35 × 2.39 m (19 ft 4 in × 7 ft 9 in × 7 ft 10 in)
  • Side opening: the full 20ft flank, in one pair of double hinged doors
  • CSC plated: 24 tonnes maximum gross weight

Build and condition

  • New — one trip only, a single loaded voyage from the factory
  • All Corten steel construction
  • One pair of double doors at the end and one pair of double hinged doors along one side
  • Two locking bars on each door
  • Two forklift pockets on each side
  • 28 mm marine plywood floor on steel cross members
  • Eight vents

What the side opening changes day to day

  • Racked storage. Shelving runs along both walls for the full 20ft, every bay served from outside, so nobody walks the box end to end to find anything.
  • Forklift work. Pallets can be set down and picked up side-on wherever they sit, which takes out the double-handling an end-door unit forces on you.
  • Long loads. Pipe, timber, profile and steel sections drop in across the opening instead of being fed lengthways through the end doors.
  • Display and pop-up use. Swung wide, the side doors turn the unit into an open-fronted bay, which is where most kiosk, servery and exhibition conversions begin.

What one trip gives you on this configuration

A single loaded voyage out of the factory is all that one-trip grade signifies, and the unit arrives close to new with it: paint unmarked, door seals tight, marine plywood floor undamaged, no history of repairs behind it. That matters more here than on a plain box, because the long side doors carry far more gasket than a single end opening and are the first thing to give trouble on a tired shell. Still deciding between new and used stock? Our container condition guide sets out what each grade means once the unit is standing on your ground.

Delivery, siting and cover

Delivery is free anywhere in the UK, and that includes Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey. No VAT is added at checkout, so the price shown on this page is the total payable. Eight vents and a Corten skin mean the unit is content standing outside all year, and with pockets on both flanks a forklift can walk it around a yard once it is down — but leave clear ground along the opening flank before you order, because full-length doors need room to swing to their stops. Crane or HIAB offload is agreed in writing before delivery. As one-trip stock this unit carries 12 months of cover against structural defects and water ingress, and separately you keep 14 days to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and 30 days to reject the goods if they are faulty.

Related units

Budget-led buyers get the identical opening on a pre-owned body from the used 20ft full side access container, and the closest new alternative is the 20ft one-trip open side container with side doors. More floor area than this usually means stepping up to the 40ft high cube full side access container. The complete selection is under open side and full side access containers; request a quote to confirm what is available.
