How this differs from a standard reefer

A conventional reefer runs a single integral refrigeration unit built into the front wall and is designed to hold food-grade temperatures. This container was configured the other way round: an insulated Conex shell with rooftop split air conditioning, which is the arrangement equipment rooms normally use. That makes it a stronger fit for electronics than for produce.

• Split AC is easier and cheaper to service than an integral reefer machine
• Existing wiring perforations save cutting and sealing work during fit-out
• The insulated envelope still cuts solar gain if you later change the cooling method
