Description

One turnstile lane, one controlled point, traffic in both directions through it — housed in a 10ft × 8ft cabin built for the purpose. On a small or medium site fed by a single access route, that is capacity enough, and the gate stops depending on a clipboard and starts keeping its own record. Size is the practical virtue: the cabin sits out on the perimeter and bolts into the hoarding and fencing line, so the boundary runs unbroken instead of relying on somebody to stand in a gap.

Dimensions

  • External: 2.991 × 2.438 × 2.591 m (9 ft 10 in × 8 ft 0 in × 8 ft 6 in)
  • Internal: 2.84 × 2.35 × 2.39 m (9 ft 4 in × 7 ft 9 in × 7 ft 10 in)
  • Door opening: 2.34 × 2.28 m (7 ft 8 in × 7 ft 6 in)
  • Floor: 28 mm (1.1 in) marine plywood

Not tied to one access-control platform

The cabin is supplied ready to connect rather than locked to a single manufacturer’s system, so whatever card or biometric platform you already run across your other sites can drive this one too. That matters if you are standardising access control across a portfolio: the expensive mistake is buying gate hardware that forces a second system, a second credential and a second administrator. Access hardware and software are not included and are integrated at your cost.

Specification and integration

  • Single lane, working in both directions
  • Card and biometric entry systems can drive it (hardware and software not supplied)
  • Purpose-built 10ft × 8ft cabin
  • Ties into hoarding and fencing lines with no groundworks
  • Capacity suited to a small or medium site running one access point
  • Induction and certification checks handled at the gate

Where a single lane is enough, and where it is not

Typical settings run from construction sites and infrastructure projects to factories, sporting events and contractor access during works. The common thread is a need to restrict entry to people carrying current certification, or who have been through induction. The limit is shift change: one lane serving both directions becomes the bottleneck when a whole crew arrives at once. If your peak is concentrated rather than spread, size for that peak rather than for the headcount.

Delivery, siting and cover

Delivery is free anywhere in the UK, including Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey, and the price shown is the total payable with no VAT added at checkout. No groundworks are required, but the cabin still needs a firm, level standing bearing at all four corners so the turnstile mechanism runs true and the doors close cleanly. Set it where it ties into the hoarding line and where the queue can form clear of vehicle movements at the gate. Crane or HIAB offload is agreed in writing before delivery. Fabrication workmanship is covered for 12 months, and separately you have 14 days to change your mind under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and a 30-day right to reject the goods if faulty under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Adding lanes and gate facilities

Separate the flows, or add a second lane, and the double turnstile unit is what to order instead. Plenty of sites park a 24ft x 10ft jackleg site cabin alongside so that induction and sign-in are dealt with at the same spot, and bigger projects run the gate next to a container site office. All of it sits in our specialised container range — when you request a quote, tell us your peak headcount and which access system you run.
