Description

Container explosive magazines are purpose-built steel stores for explosives, detonators, ammunition and other hazardous materials. Because the magazine is a container, it can be craned onto a truck and relocated as a quarry face, mine or civil project moves, rather than being built in place and abandoned.

Specifying a magazine

The quantity you intend to store is the first decision, since it sets the size of the unit and drives the separation distances your site has to maintain. Insulation matters as much as security here: keeping internal temperature stable protects the product as well as the people around it. Weatherproof vents allow that without compromising the seal.

Storage and siting of explosives are regulated, and the applicable rules depend on your jurisdiction and licence. Confirm your own compliance requirements with the relevant authority before ordering – we build to the specification you give us.

Related hazardous storage

For dangerous goods that are not explosive, the 20ft hazardous goods shipping container is the usual choice. Where the risk is spillage rather than detonation, a 20ft raised bunded store contains liquid leaks in a sump beneath the load. Both sit alongside our other specialized containers.

Every magazine is built to order with the capacity, signage and door arrangement you specify. Contact our team with your quantities and site details to start the specification.
