Description
A high-capacity commercial ice vending machine in excellent working order, producing up to roughly 860 kg of ice per day with a built-in bin holding around 360 kg. It accepts cash and coins as supplied, with the option to add a card reader, and is designed for unattended self-service around the clock. This is a pre-owned machine rather than a new one, and it is priced and described on that basis.
Capacity and payment
- Daily ice production: up to approximately 860 kg (1,900 lb) per day
- Storage bin: approximately 360 kg (800 lb) built in
- Payment: cash and coins as standard; card reader can be added
- Operation: self-service, suitable for unattended 24-hour trading
Why the bin size matters as much as the output
Daily production is the headline figure, but demand for ice does not arrive evenly across a day — it arrives in a rush on a hot afternoon and on the way to a weekend. The bin is what carries you through that peak, because a machine producing 860 kg over twenty-four hours cannot produce it in the two hours when everybody wants it. Sizing the site to the bin rather than to the daily total is the difference between a machine that sells out at three o’clock and one that trades all afternoon.
Siting an ice vending machine
- Power and water. The machine makes as well as stores ice, so it needs a permanent supply of both at the chosen position.
- Traffic, not footfall. Petrol stations, convenience stores, campsites, marinas and slipways do well because customers arrive with a cool box already in the vehicle.
- Seasonality. Demand peaks hard in summer, so plan servicing and restocking around that rather than around an annual average.
- Weather-resistant build. Suitable for outdoor or high-traffic positions.
Condition, and what that means for cover
The machine is used and in excellent working condition, not new. Expect cosmetic wear consistent with a unit that has been in commercial service. Because it is pre-owned equipment rather than a new-build or a container conversion, it is sold as described rather than under a manufacturer’s new-goods warranty — we would encourage an inspection before purchase. Your statutory rights are unaffected and apply in full.
Delivery and your rights
Delivery is free anywhere in the UK, including Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey, and the price shown is the total payable with no VAT added at checkout. A machine of this size travels on a flatbed and is set with a forklift, so tell us about access, surface and manoeuvring space when you enquire; where a crane or HIAB offload is required, that is agreed in writing before delivery. You have 14 days to change your mind under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, and a separate 30-day right to reject the goods if they are faulty under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
If cold storage is the real requirement
Where the requirement is holding product cold rather than retailing ice, a refrigerated container is normally the better buy. Bulk product is handled by the 20ft mobile cold storage container, and tighter sites by the 10ft freezer reefer container. Both appear alongside our other specialised containers. Contact our team to check current availability and arrange an inspection, or request a delivered price for your site address.
