Used 10Ft Cut Down Container

Description

Shorten a full-length ISO shell, then build a new end onto it: that is all cut down means. One 40ft donor normally yields four boxes this size, and since the raw material has already spent a working life at sea, the finished 10ft costs markedly less than one built as a 10ft from scratch. The rear panel is fabricated from fresh steel, and every cut-down container is prepared and resprayed inside and out before it leaves us.

One thing to be clear about: it cannot ship

Once the shell has been cut the CSC plate is void, which makes this a static storage unit and nothing else. It cannot legally be used to carry freight by road, rail or sea, and it will not be accepted for export. For most buyers that is irrelevant — the container is going into a yard or a garden and will stay there.

Anyone who genuinely needs a short box with a live CSC plate should buy the 10ft one-trip instead. And if 10ft is not quite the figure you want, say so: we cut to other lengths, so give us the measurement the site actually needs.

Where a 10ft cut down container makes sense

It goes where a longer box will not: allotments, school grounds, courtyard and rooftop compounds, narrow yards, residential driveways with a limiting gateway. Weight accounts for half of that. At 1,300 kg the unit sits comfortably inside HIAB range, so placing it — and lifting it out again when the site changes — is a far smaller exercise than on a 20ft or 40ft.

Delivery, siting and cover

Delivery is free anywhere in the UK, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey included, and the price shown is the total payable with no VAT added at checkout. At 1,300 kg the placement options are much wider than for a full-size container: a HIAB-equipped lorry can often lift a 10ft unit over a wall or hedge into a position no vehicle could reach. Crane or HIAB offload is agreed in writing before delivery. Set the unit on firm, level ground — a shortened shell will twist and bind its doors if one corner settles.

Supplied wind and watertight, it is covered for three months from delivery: dry inside under normal weather conditions, with doors that open, close and lock. Cosmetic condition is excluded, though a freshly resprayed unit arrives looking far better than the donor did. Separately from that, you have 14 days to change your mind under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, and a distinct 30-day right to reject the goods if they are faulty.
