Description

Of the used tiers we sell, Grade A is the one picked over by hand. Each box is judged on its own merits — door frames square, seals sound, floor dry, corrosion no worse than superficial — rather than swept into a bulk grade on age alone. What it will not be is cosmetically new: the original shipping line paint stays on, along with the surface marking and the odd light dent that a working life leaves behind. The high cube profile is the other half of the appeal, standing 2.70 m inside with 2.59 m of that clear through the doorway, so anything tall goes in upright instead of being tipped on its side. Supplied guaranteed wind and watertight.

What the Grade A selection actually buys you

Grade A is a selection standard, not a separate warranty grade. The unit is still a used, wind and watertight container; what the extra money pays for is that somebody has looked at this particular one and turned away the boxes with racked door frames, perished gaskets, damp floors or advancing corrosion. That is worth having when the container will be on view, when the doors will be worked every day, or when a conversion is planned and you would rather not begin by lifting a rotten floor. For a side-by-side view of how this grade sits against cargo worthy and one-trip stock, work through our container condition guide.

What it suits

  • Driveways and tight yards with no room to swing a 40ft box — this one is 6.06 m externally
  • Storing anything tall that has to pass through the doors upright
  • Parts and tool stores you can rack out and still stand up in
  • Storage you expect to move again — a 2,320 kg tare keeps tilt-bed placement simple

Delivery, cover and your rights

Delivery is free to any UK address, taking in Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey, and no VAT is added at checkout so the price shown is the total payable. This is one of the easier units to place: a 20ft footprint and a light 2,320 kg tare mean a tilt-bed can usually work with a driveway or a modest yard, and the forklift pockets let you nudge it into final position afterwards. Where a crane or HIAB offload is preferred, that is agreed in writing before delivery. As a wind and watertight unit it carries 3 months of cover from delivery — dry inside, doors operating — and separately you keep 14 days to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and 30 days to reject the goods if they are faulty.

Related units

Where the finish matters more than the saving, step up to the one-trip 20ft high cube; for tote and drum work, the 20ft hi-cube set up for IBC storage is the closer fit. Doubling the floor area without losing the extra headroom means the 40ft x 8ft used high cube. Other lengths sit in the high cube container selection.
