When a business or a household simply runs out of room, a used 40ft storage container is the blunt, high-capacity answer. It is a standard ISO box that has finished its cargo-carrying career and now stands still as a lockable store. Every one is inspected before sale and goes out fit to use straight away, for appreciably less than new or one-trip stock.

Out of sight matters as much as out of the weather
A steel container with no windows is a genuinely effective deterrent, worth as much to most buyers as the weather protection. Nobody can see in, there is nothing to break but the doors, and the doors are the strongest part of the structure.
Two things make the difference in practice. Face the doors at a wall, a fence or a building rather than open ground — an angle grinder needs room to work, and denying it that room beats any lock. And fit a lockbox where there is none, so the padlock shackle sits shrouded in steel rather than exposed to bolt croppers.

Expect it to look its age. Surface rust, denting and the previous line’s paint are all normal at this grade and none is a fault; what has to be right is the shell and the door seals.
Delivery, siting and cover
Delivery is free to any UK address, including Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey, and the price shown is the total payable with no VAT added at checkout. Delivery is by tilt-bed or roll-off lorry and needs firm, level ground with roughly twice the container length in clear approach. On soft ground, set slabs or sleepers under the four corner castings — the container carries its weight there, not along its base. HIAB or crane offload is agreed in writing before delivery. Mainland England and Wales is typically 3 to 7 working days.
Supplied wind and watertight, the container is covered for three months from delivery: dry inside under normal weather conditions, with doors that open, close and lock. Cosmetic condition is excluded. Your statutory rights sit alongside that as separate claims — 14 days to change your mind under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, and a 30-day right to reject the goods if they are faulty.
