Ablution Blocks

Description

Ablution blocks built inside shipping container shells. The smallest is a 10 ft unit holding one WC, a urinal and a basin; the largest runs to 40 ft and carries toilets, urinals, showers, mirrors and changing space. The configuration most sites settle on is the 20 ft block split down the middle with two separate entrance doors, which gives male and female facilities in one delivery and one footprint.

Start with the services, not the layout

The question that decides everything else is what already exists on site. Where mains water and a foul connection are in place, a conventional fit-out with WCs, urinals, basins and showers is straightforward and the only real decision is capacity. Where they are not, the specification is a different build: our remote-area blocks are designed to run without mains power or water, and that has to be settled at the start rather than discovered halfway through. Where they are used

On construction sites, providing suitable and sufficient welfare facilities is a legal duty under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, and a container ablution block is the practical way to meet it where nothing permanent exists. The same units solve the same problem away from construction entirely: farms and estates, campsites, festivals and outdoor events, showgrounds, sports clubs and remote locations with no plumbing at all. A container shell means the whole block lifts in, gets connected, and lifts back out once the season or the project is over.

Delivery, siting and cover

Delivery is free anywhere we deliver in the UK, taking in Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey, and the price shown is the total payable — no VAT is added at checkout. Access requirements scale with the shell you choose, which is worth knowing before you specify: a 10 ft block can be placed in tight quarters by a small HIAB, while a 40 ft block needs the same access as any 40ft container and a considerably longer standing for the lifting vehicle. Any HIAB or crane offload is agreed in writing before the delivery date. Set the block on level, load-bearing ground with the drainage run planned in — a fully fitted ablution block is not something you want to reposition once the connections are made. These are built to your layout, so allow the 2 to 6 week specialist band in our shipping policy. The conversion work is covered for 12 months on workmanship in line with our warranty policy, and separately you keep 14 days to change your mind under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and 30 days to reject the goods if faulty.
